Welcome to Champagne Ciné, the independent webzine dedicated to a passion for cinema, based right here in the heart of our region!
Born out of a desire to share our love of the cinema, Champagne Ciné is not just a website for film reviews. It is a space for meeting others, making new discoveries and engaging in discussion for all film lovers, from occasional cinema-goers to die-hard fans in the front rows.
Our DNA: Cinema from every angle
We believe that cinema is best experienced both on the big screens of multiplexes and in the intimate setting of arthouse cinemas. On Champagne Ciné, you’ll find:
- Clear-cut opinions and in-depth analysis to guide you through this week’s new releases, through our reviews and interviews.
- A look at socially conscious cinema, because cinema is a powerful mirror of our society. We explore films that challenge the status quo (women’s rights, LGBT+ issues, the environment, memory and conflicts).
- A spotlight on film literacy, to understand what goes on behind the scenes, the courses and careers that make the magic of films happen.
Strong local roots
Our region is brimming with talent and exceptional cultural initiatives. That is why we are keen to shine a spotlight on the key players in the local film scene: associations, production companies and actors from our region. We also cover the unmissable events that bring our region to life, from Reims Polar to War on Screen, not forgetting the Popcorn Festival.
The team behind the scenes
Behind the articles on Champagne Ciné is a team of enthusiasts with eclectic tastes, but united by a shared belief: a good movie is one you discuss after leaving the theater. Julie, Bachir, Lilou, and Justine—we’re four film-loving students who want to share our passion!
